Accessed via a gravelled farm track, unseen from the road, Burrs Farm stands independently and is surrounded by 20 acres of delightful farmland. Originally the Country Manor House of Chelmorton, it beams with endless character and sits in a rural, elevated position on the outskirts of Chelmorton, the highest village in Derbyshire.
Whilst Burrs Farm offers privacy and seclusion, it is only a short walk to the village and a short drive to the market towns of Buxton and Bakewell. It is a grand and traditional property full of warmth and character. A perfect place from which to explore the Peak District National Park.
Whether you are hoping for a relaxing countryside break or a place to host a hen and stag party with friends, Burrs Farm can accommodate your every need all under one roof. You can sleep, dine, party, socialise and most importantly, make memories. It's the perfect house for parties and groups of families and friends that just want to escape to the countryside for a rural break.
The property itself is very spacious and sleep between 14-20 guests. There are 7 beautifully decorated bedrooms, 1 large family bathroom and 4 wonderful en-suites. As you can imagine, there is plenty of space and privacy for large groups of people and the house itself retains all the character that you would expect from a historical country residence.
Burrs Farm is perfectly situated as a wonderful base for exploring the area. There are endless trails for walkers and cyclists to enjoy on your doorstep and fabulous historic towns such as Bakewell and Buxton mere minutes away. Visits to nearby Chatsworth House or Haddon Hall will simply perfect your stay.
From the lively Footgolf to the charming Wendy house, from the warming fire pit to a satisfying soak in the hot tub - there's something for everyone to enjoy at Burrs Farm in the Peak District. The spectacular outdoor space is ideal for cooking al-fresco, nights around the fire, fun and games in the garden. Those with a sense of adventure and love of the outdoors will be in their element with the proximity of cycling trails, climbing, mountain biking and outstanding walks suitable for all ages and abilities.
The granite-topped, spacious country kitchen, with informal dining area, exposed beams and polished stone flagged floors, flows into the sumptuous main lounge, with log burner, deep seat sofas and original stone fireplace, enabling all guests to mingle, relax and congregate even when meal preparations are in progress. There is a separate utility room and a pantry for storage, along with all mod-cons and utensils to make large-group catering a pleasure.
The second lounge (with sofa bed) is ideal for those seeking a quieter spot to read the papers, play pool or for children to have their own space to play and watch TV. An elegant dining room, with stone fireplace and log burner, provides the perfect formal dining space for atmospheric and memorable evenings or long lunches.
Burrs Farm's impressive staircase leads to a galleried landing with seating which invites a spot of contemplation. The first and second floors comprise 7 sizeable, recently refurbished bedrooms (4 en-suites) and a large family bathroom. All rooms have great views and offer the flexibility of either twin or king-sized double arrangement. Some are designed to accommodate families or small groups of friends.
